About NFCM

The evolution of the National Resource Center for Catholic Men (NRCCM) to the National Fellowship of Catholic Men (NFCM) is a natural step forward in our ministry to Catholic men. The initial need for a National Resource Center for Catholic Men was first recognized in September 1998 when about 20 Catholic men's leaders met with several Bishops, and the USCCB Committee on Marriage and Family and Committee on Evangelism.  

In March of 2001, the NRCCM was formally established with the hiring of Maurice Blumberg as the Executive Director. Maurice effectively guided the National Resource Center for Catholic Men’s growth from 16 conferences a year to over 60 and served faithfully in this capacity until September 1, 2008.

In the spring of 2004, twenty Catholic men’s leaders met in Naples Florida to discuss the current and future direction of the Catholic men’s movement and the National Resource Center for Catholic Men. In attendance were the Executive Director of the NRCCM, several trustees, and Catholic Men’s Fellowship Leaders. Other leaders from many regions of the country also attended.  

At the meeting, the need for a national organization with an expanded mission and more formal relationship among Catholic men fellowship leaders was apparent. As a result, the National Resource Center for Catholic Men was changed to the National Fellowship of Catholic Men (NFCM). 

The intention of the NFCM is not to be an alternative to any Catholic men’s organization that currently exists. However, our strategy is to evangelize Catholic men to Jesus Christ and root them in the Church by assisting the development of fellowship groups and activities aimed at enriching their spiritual, sacramental, family and community lives. We will continue to collaborate with and support the groups in their own ministries and continue to provide them with quality Catholic men’s resources, training materials, and communication medium.
